BEFORE YOU DIVE INTO THE GOOD STUFF...

Whiskey derives from fermented grain mash, most commonly using barley, maize, rye, wheat, corn and so on. This concoction is aged in wooden casks, most popularly French oak or American Oak, where a series of processes occur to produce the beautiful drink we all enjoy.

The name for whiskey varies from region to region, based on hisorical factors, and/or based on a strict set of requirements to qualify for that name (for example, bourbon has to be from the US and made from at least 51% corn), and the types of whiskey include single malt, blended malt, blended, cask strength and single cask.
